Skaneateles Proudly Hosts 2nd Annual New York Wine Festival at Mirbeau Inn & Spa September 23-25, 2011

The 2nd Annual New York Wine Festival will take place in the picturesque Skaneateles Village serving as the Eastern Gateway to the Finger Lakes Wine Country The beautiful and scenic Mirbeau Inn & Spa host the event for its second consecutive year, September 23-25. This wine festival was the first in New York State to showcase fine wines from the three main wine growing regions: the Hudson Valley, Long Island and the Finger Lakes. The event also offers interactive workshops, a local farmers market and artist’s exhibit, tasting tents, delicious food and live music for wine enthusiasts.
The New York Wine Festival was born when a group of the more serious wine makers wanted a festival that focused on all three regions of New York’s wineries. Centrally located in Skaneateles, Mirbeau Inn & Spa took the reins in organizing this Village-wide event which was met with great enthusiasm in its 2010 inaugural year.

The weekend’s festivities begin on Friday, September 23rd with the kick-off Wine Pairing Dinner event at the French Steakhouse at Mirbeau. On Saturday, September 24th, the Festival will begin at 12 noon with events including winery tours of Anyela’s Vineyards, wine seminars, wine tasting, local farmers and artist’s displays, spa treatments, food tents, and live music. The Festival wraps up on Sunday, September 25th with a fabulous Champagne Brunch in the Dining Room at Mirbeau.
The New York Wine Festival is the only festival to bring together wines from the Hudson Valley, Long Island and the Finger Lakes. Tasting tents will be up all allow for guests to visit and sample the best these regions have to offer. Individual bottles and cases of wine will be available for purchase. Wineries will also be entering their ‘Best of the Best’ in the People’s Choice Awards for ‘Favorite Wines’.
